Wills & Estates
Kings Crossing Prison Ministries has been helped immensely by thoughtful Christians including us when taking advance steps concerning what it to be done with their material assets once they have gone on to their eternal reward. This is yet another way to help others continue to come to Christ until He comes. The ministry has received land, homes, cars, cash, stock, and bonds. While such is not depended on for day-to-day operations, they insure our long-term stability and future. In this way, these gifts resemble those to the Kolb and Griffith Legacy accounts. There are times when a need arises that is so large that we could not proceed based on regular “monthly” support. These assets allow us to meet such needs.
You may ask, “HOW does this work?”
- You may state a specific amount or percentage of your residual estate that you desire us to receive of what remains after gifts to loved ones and expenses have been paid).
- You specify certain assets that you want us to receive (securities/stocks/bonds, real estate, vehicles, equipment or other marketable properties.
- You simply need to notify your financial advisor or CPA of this desire. They will refer you to a reputable attorney if you do not already have one to assist you.
- When legal documents are prepared, the legal name to be listed is Kings Crossing Church of Christ Prison Ministry. It is important to be clear that your gift is intended to support the “Prison Ministry.”
Below is all the information the attorney should need. He or she will handle everything else.

If you want to write out your request in advance, it may be helpful for you to “fill in the blank” and use language such as these sample statements:
- "I give and bequeath to Kings Crossing Church of Christ (Prison Ministry) the sum of $ (dollar amount) to be used for its charitable purposes."
- "I give and bequeath to Kings Crossing Church of Christ (Prison Ministry) % of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate to be used for its charitable purposes."
- "I give and bequeath to Kings Crossing Church of Christ (Prison Ministry) to be used for its charitable purposes." - In this case, you will specify in the blank securities, stocks, bonds, real estate, or other marketable properties.
It is not necessary but helpful to us when we have been named as a beneficiary in your will or trust so we can thank you properly. Unrestricted funds allow Kings Crossing Prison Ministries the flexibility of applying funds where there is the greatest need at the time.
